This California cool kitchen does it all for a young active family that desired a space equally accommodating of quiet family meals and big gatherings centered around food, fun and time in the pool. The extra large island, custom bar area and huge sliding door make this an ideal space to host parties and enhance the flow between indoor and outdoor entertainment and cooking spaces. Mindful of the needs of a busy family, we designed distinct food preparation, storage and dining zones to accomplish a layout that quietly invites family members to gather and linger in this calm and welcoming space together.

By removing walls and raising the ceiling this kitchen went from drab to fab! The black island with waterfall edges is the counterpoint of this beauty. Combining warm walnut lower cabinets with the shiny white uppers is the perfect set up for our cool, 3 dimensional backsplash. Our kitchen would not be complete with out a wine station and lots of hidden storage.

La Costa new "old world" Kitchen

We had so much fun taking this builder kitchen and turning it into an Italian wine loving alcove. The well-traveled client and I coined the look, New "Old World". The custom hood pairs nicely with the stone split-face walls while ample storage and state of the are cooking appliances make this room as functional as it is beautiful.
